2008 Paris Texas Hamfest Ham Radio Shootout
This year we are adding a shootout competition. one for 80 meter ssb and one for 2 meter FM.
The rules are simple:
80 meter shootout rules
Objective:
Have FUN !!! and remember its a Hobby
Date: 11 OCT 2008 Saturday
TIME: around 9:00 am
Frequency: 2008 shoot out will be held on
75 meters Freq. 3806 Khz plus or minus SSB
RULES:
1. Drivable to the hamfest site, mobile antennas on Vehicles only. (2 to 4 wheels)
2. Vehichle and antenna No taller or longer than 130 feet measured from the ground.
3. vehicle and equipment inspection must be allowed.
4. A color Ribbon shall be fastened to the top of the participant's antenna.
5. No (PA) Power amplifiers allowed. 125 watts is maximum power allowed
6. Participating mobile station that emits the strongest received signal wins as measured by whatever means the judges may be using.
Procedure:
1. Participants must present / Check in with the Shoot out coordinator.
2. All participating mobiles will be inspected prior to the test to insure specifications of the test are meet.
3. All mobiles shall be located at the same spot for the entire test.
4. Participants will present their test antenna/vehicle to the prescribed location for inspection
when called by the test committee.
5. Test committee will perform and record the signal test results.
6. All participants should be ready for testing when called.
7. All participants agree to pay a 5 dollar entry fee
Shoot OUT Committee:
This committee shall have final authority for decisions on all shoot out procedures, rules, awards and applications of this event.
Award:
1-Participating mobile antenna that emits the strongest received signal
wins first place trophy and half of all entry fees
2 meter FM Shootout

RULES:
1. Drivable to the hamfest site, mobile antennas on Vehicles only. (2 to 4 wheels)
2. Vehichle and antenna No taller or longer than 50 feet measured from the ground.
3. vehicle and equipment inspection must be allowed.
4. A color Ribbon shall be fastened to the top of the participant's antenna.
5. No (PA) Power amplifiers allowed. 50 watts is maximum power allowed
6. Participating mobile station that emits the strongest received signal wins as measured by whatever means the judges may be using.
