My Family!!
Well, where to begin? This family is a unique one that I am so very proud of. Richard and I met each other and became friends through radio about five years ago. He was selling cars and he had to come into the radio station to cut commercials for Morrell Auto Group. It would be several years later that we would marry and welcome a new baby girl into our world.
Richard is a wonderful husband and father. The kids are being ruined by his comedy but it sure makes for a happy atmosphere for us to enjoy as a family. Between the made-up Alabama Eye Suckers (a small ugly, scary bug) around our house and the nick names that he has given everyone…I’m not sure if I can let the children out into society or not. Richard is still a salesman. He is the Sale Manager for Load Trail Trailers in Tigertown. He is very big into ham radio too. His call sign is KI5DX. Most of all he is the love of my life and I’m so glad to see what a great husband and father he is.
Payten is 13. She is in the 8th grade at Chisum Elementary. She loves music and texting!! She plays guitar and saxophone and she is a great singer too. You can hear her play with the Chisum High School Band Friday nights at the ball games. She plays guitar in her band, Crosstown Connection too. They are just getting started but soon I know they will be playing all over. Her band mates are Metz Branch, Landon Moree and Blake McNeal. Payten also sings at church and plays volleyball and basketball. She is doing great in school right now. She’s taking an Algebra I class that was optional and she’s hanging in there!! Payten is a beautiful, talented girl and we are so proud of her.
Rhett is our wild man! He is 7 years old and full of life. Payten and Rhett were both in a car accident in 2007 with their grandmother and cousin. Rhett suffered many serious injuries including a broken back and hand, internal bleeding and severe head and face trauma. We are so lucky that he is not only here with us, but thriving. Except for a few scars you could never tell that he had been through such an ordeal. He is in the first grade at Chisum Elementary. He is learning to read this year. He loves to play base ball and watch wrestling on TV. He has big beautiful brown eyes and the best nose ever!! He likes to go to his Mee Mee and Papa’s on the weekend. They live in the country and I think he feels at home where he can run wild!!
RubyAnn is our new addition. Better known as Ruby Jack, she is such a blessing! She looks like her Daddy. She even has his striking blue eyes! She seems to do a lot of crying these days but the big smiles always make up for it. She came to work with me for a while but now she stays with a sitter while we are working. At 3 months old Ruby Jack is 24 inches long and weighs 14 pounds. She’s a chunk and she’s got so much love around her she doesn’t know what to do with it all. That’s the way it oughta be, right?
