Document of Organization (Charter) 

 

1. This Document of Organization supersedes in whole all previous versions. 

 

2. Name:

The name of this organization is the Paris Texas Radio Group, referred to herein as PTRG or group. 

 

3. Purpose: 

Our purpose is to embrace all aspects and traditions of our amateur radio hobby, from the oldest to the newest. Amateur radio should be enjoyed in way old-timers and new hams alike will want to be a part of the fun of our amateur radio hobby. Helping, encouraging, and promoting technical advancement and experimentation is, above all, fun. We conduct our group activities to advance general interest in amateur radio throughout our community. We will support public safety when called upon; however, our primary purpose is to have fun as a ham radio group.

 

4. Membership: 

Full membership is open to any person possessing an amateur radio license. Full members may vote and hold office. Associate membership is open to anyone interested in our hobby. Associate members may not vote or hold office. Our group has the right to decline membership application. Any membership can be terminated by majority vote.

 

5. Officers:

PTRG’s officers are, President, Vice-President and Secretary/Treasurer. If permanently vacated, these offices will be filled through a nomination and vote of the full members present. An Amateur Extra Class member is appointed trustee, indefinitely. Trustee’s duties include supervision of FCC issued group callsign and all group equipment. If permanently vacated, trustee will appoint with presidents concurrence an Amateur Extra Class member to apply to the FCC to succeed as trustee. Otherwise, trustee will be determined by nomination and majority vote of full members present. All officers are elected annually by full members present and no officer can serve for more than one consecutive term. 

 

6. Dues: 

PTRG does not collect dues. Donations /contributions of money or equipment may be accepted by majority vote of full members present. 

 

7. Meetings:

 All meetings of PTRG are informal and may be called anytime by two officers and/or membership majority. The president or vice president presides over all meetings. Such meetings may take place, in person, over amateur radio or through other electronic communication means. A brief summary of each meeting will be recorded by the secretary/treasurer. 

 

8. Use of PTRG equipment and /or callsign: 

PTRG’s equipment and/or Callsign use may be limited to full members with president and trustee concurrence.. The station log is maintained by the trustee for filing purposes.

 

9. PTRG PROPERTY: 

All PTRG money/ property belongs solely to PTRG. The secretary/treasurer records all money/property transactions and keeps an accurate inventory of all money/property. 

 

10. Group Disbandment 

The PTRG will only be disbanded by a 100% Yes Vote to Disband by 100% of the entire full membership. If disbanded current officers will determine the disposition of all money/property.
